Course Details:
Curriculum
A Yoga Teacher Training Course is a comprehensive program that covers all the essential aspects of yoga. Our curriculum is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of the practice and principles of yoga, as well as the skills and knowledge needed to become a competent and confident yoga teacher. Here are the details of the curriculum:
Asana (yoga postures): Students will learn the proper alignment, modifications, and variations of various yoga postures, including standing, seated, inversions, backbends, twists, and forward bends. This will include the study of Sun Salutations, standing and seated postures, inversions, backbends, twists, forward bends, and restorative postures. Students will also learn how to sequence postures in a class and how to progress or regress a posture based on the student’s ability.
Pranayama (breathing exercises): Students will learn various breathing techniques to enhance their yoga practice and promote relaxation, including ujjayi, nadi shodhana, and bhastrika. Students will learn how to incorporate pranayama in their yoga classes and how to use it for different purposes, such as relaxation, energizing or balancing.
Meditation: Students will learn different methods of meditation, including concentration, mindfulness, and visualization, and how to incorporate it into their personal practice and teaching. Students will learn different techniques to help the students to focus and to cultivate inner awareness.
Yoga Philosophy and History: Students will learn about the history, philosophy, and ethics of yoga, including the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and other key texts, such as Bhagavad Gita, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, and Upanishads. This includes the study of different yoga traditions, such as Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga, and Bhakti Yoga, and the study of the main concepts of yoga, such as the chakras, koshas, and the 8 limbs of yoga.
Anatomy and Physiology: Students will learn the basics of human anatomy and physiology, including how yoga postures affect the body, how to adapt yoga for different populations, and how to recognize and work with common injuries. This includes the study of the bones, muscles, and joints of the body, and how they are affected by different postures.
Teaching Methodology: Students will learn how to effectively teach yoga, including how to create and lead safe and effective yoga classes, give clear and effective verbal and hands-on adjustments, and create a positive and supportive learning environment. This includes the study of different teaching styles, how to plan and structure a class, how to use language effectively, and how to create a class that is inclusive and accessible to all.
Sequencing and Theming: Students will learn how to create thoughtful and dynamic yoga sequences, and how to theme classes to target specific areas of the body or to address specific needs. This includes the study of how to create a balanced class, how to use different themes to create a specific atmosphere and how to create sequences that are appropriate for different levels of students.
Practicum: Students will have the opportunity to practice teaching yoga under the guidance of experienced teachers, and receive feedback and guidance on their teaching skills. This includes the opportunity to observe experienced teachers and to teach classes to peers and to the public.
Self-study and reflection: Students will be encouraged to engage in self-study, reflection, and journaling as part of their training. This includes the opportunity to reflect on the learning experience, to deepen the understanding of the material studied and to integrate the new knowledge in a personal practice.
Ethical considerations: Students will learn about the ethical considerations that they should be aware of as a yoga teacher, including boundaries, cultural sensitivity, and inclusivity. This includes the study of how to create a safe and respectful learning environment, how to address sensitive issues and how to create classes that are inclusive and accessible to all students regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion and physical abilities.

Sanskrit and Mantra: Students will learn the basics of the Sanskrit language, the language of ancient yoga texts, and the meaning and use of common yoga terms and mantras. This includes the study of the basics of the Sanskrit alphabet, common yoga terms, and the meaning and use of mantras in yoga practice and teaching.
Ayurveda and Yoga: Students will learn about the principles of Ayurveda and how to integrate them into their yoga practice and teaching. This includes the study of the three doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha), how to use Ayurvedic principles to create a balanced diet and lifestyle, and how to use Ayurvedic principles to create yoga classes that balance the doshas.
Yoga for specific purposes : Students will learn how to use yoga for specific purposes, such as yoga for athletes, yoga for stress management, yoga for sleep, and yoga for mental health. This includes the study of how to create classes for specific purposes and how to use different techniques to achieve specific goals, such as yoga for stress management, yoga for sleep, and yoga for mental health.
Special Populations: Students will learn how to adapt yoga for special populations, including individuals with injuries or special needs. This includes the study of how to modify postures for injuries and conditions, how to create classes for specific populations such as seniors, children, pregnant women, and people with chronic illnesses, and how to create classes for specific goals such as weight loss, stress reduction, and flexibility.
Marketing and Business : Students will learn how to market themselves as a yoga teacher, how to create a yoga business plan, how to set up and manage a yoga studio, and how to use social media and other marketing tools to promote their business. This includes the study of how to create a brand, how to set prices, how to create a website, how to use social media, how to create a newsletter, how to create a brochure, and how to create a business card.

Course Prerequisites
Minimum level of yoga experience: It is recommended that students have a minimum of 3 months of consistent yoga practice before joining the course, to ensure familiarity with basic yoga postures and to maximize the benefits of the training. Prior exposure to Ashtanga or Vinyasa Flow styles is advantageous due to their dynamic nature. While previous experience in fitness or sports training may offer an advantage, it is not essential. The most important qualities to bring are an open heart and an open mind.
Physical requirements: The program may involve physical demands, requiring students to be in good physical health and capable of standing for extended periods, holding yoga postures, and practicing sequences.
English proficiency: As the program is conducted in English, students should possess a basic level of English proficiency to comprehend and actively engage in lectures and discussions.
Age requirement: While the minimum age requirement is typically 18 years old, students above 16 years of age are accepted. Yoga is inclusive and open to individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences. Emotional maturity is valued among students undertaking the course.
Health conditions: Students with specific health concerns should consult with the school before applying to ensure the program’s suitability. This includes physical, mental, or emotional conditions that may hinder full participation.
Course duration: 100 Hours (2 weeks), 200 Hours (4 weeks), 200 Hours (The course spans 3 weeks or 21 days, totaling 150 hours of residential training. An additional 50 hours of classes will be conducted online. Therefore, prospective students are advised to book the course at least a month prior to the start date to accommodate logistical arrangements and online preparations.)
Exception to the prerequisites: In cases where students do not meet the prerequisites but wish to participate, exceptions can be considered on a case-by-case basis. Prospective students are encouraged to discuss their circumstances with the school in advance to ensure alignment with the program’s requirements and objectives.
